Capital Campaign

The School is currently in a building campaign.  The campaign, “Building the vision. Embracing the dream.,” will construct a 23,000 square foot addition to the Lower School Activity Center. When completed for the 2012-13 school year, all students in first through fifth grades will be in the same building. The addition will provide for larger classrooms, an enrichment room for each grade, a covered porch/veranda for use as an outdoor classroom or gathering spot for special events, enhanced natural and overhead lighting, increased security, a new entrance/exit in front of the auditorium to facilitate carpool drop-offs and pick-ups.

The cost to build the addition is $4.2 million. Generous patrons are making pledges over a five year period. Trustees are at 100% participation. Most remarkable, 100% of the faculty and staff, the people who understand most clearly the importance of building this new facility now, have pledges approaching $200,000.

Honorary chairs are Bill Cameron, Laura Cameron, Lezlie and David Hudiburg and Katie and Aubrey McClendon. Campaign co-chairs are David Harlow and John Kennedy. Campaign Cabinet members are David Griffin, Diana Hampton, Debby McQueen, Kelly Moody, Bobby Nelson, David Rainbolt, Bob Ross and Darren Tawwater.

Architectural Design Group (ADG) and Smith & Pickel Construction, the same groups who worked together to design and build the Middle School and the Lower School Activity Center are again collaborating to do the Lower School addition.

The campaign will accept outright gifts of cash, stock or other assets that can readily be converted to cash. Pledges can be made over a five year period. Questions regarding gifts may be directed to Susan Frank, Director of Development.
